GOD'S IMAGE AND LIKENESS.
Affirming that human beings are created in God's image is to recognize the unique qualities of human nature that allows God to manifest in humans. Man is a conscious recognition of having been made in the image of God .That means that they are aware of being part of creation by which God's plans and purposes are best expressed and renewed in man. This way they can interact creatively with the rest of creation. The moral implications of the doctrine of Image of God are apparent in the fact that if humans are to love God, then humans must love other human beings that God created because each one is an expression of God. Man's likeness to God can be understood by contrast with what is not the image of God, ie people who, for all we know, are without this spiritual self-awareness and the capacity of spiritual and moral reflection and growth.
